Animal Care

APHIS Animal Care protects the welfare of animals nationwide by enforcing the Animal Welfare Act and Horse Protection Act, conducting inspections, guiding compliance, and supporting humane care. We work with covered facilities and individuals, partners, and communities to ensure animals receive safe, responsible treatment and to strengthen emergency readiness that safeguards animals and people.
