NAHMS Poultry Studies
In collaboration with USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), the NAHMS Poultry 2025 Small Enterprise Study will provide important information about management and biosecurity practices used on U.S. small enterprise poultry operations.
This national study invited selected producers to participate from all 50 States and focused on operations with table egg layers (300 to 74,999 inventory); broilers (300 to 199,999 moved or sold annually); and meat turkeys (300 to 59,999 moved or sold annually).
Data collection concluded in early 2026.
Important documents for those interested in the study can be found below.
In addition, NAHMS has conducted five studies on health and management practices on U.S. poultry operations: Layers 2013, Poultry 2010, Poultry Small Enterprise 2007, Poultry 2004, and Layers 1999.
